Come Build Joylery With Us

This project is way too big for just the two of us.

Every weekend we're in Crinitz, slowly bringing this old factory back to life, and we'd love some helping hands. If you've been looking for an excuse to get out of the city, learn something new, meet lovely people, and be part of building something real—this is it.

What we'll be doing

Nothing glamorous... just the things that help turn an abandoned factory into a future art residency.

• Cleaning and clearing rooms

• Carrying, lifting, and moving things

• Repairing roofs, walls, floors, doors, and windows

• Painting and sanding

• Gardening and building raised beds

• Organising, sorting, and making the place feel alive

• Whatever unexpected jobs the weekend throws at us!

If you know your way around tools, amazing. If you've never picked up a drill, that's completely fine too. As long as you're happy to roll up your sleeves and help, you'll fit right in.

When?

Anytime! Especially during the summer.

James is now working on Joylery full-time and is at the factory most days, so there's always something to do. Whether you can spare a day, a weekend, or even a week, your help will make a real difference.

Just let us know before you come so we can plan the work (and dinner!).

 

Getting Here

You can travel with us from Berlin on Friday evening, or we can usually pick you up from a nearby train station on Saturday morning if you let us know in advance.

If you're driving, even better! It also really helps if you come with a friend or two.

 

We'll Take Care of You

We can't pay you, but we can offer a warm place to sleep, good food, plenty of coffee, campfires, and a weekend you'll probably remember for a long time.

Bring clothes you don't mind getting dirty, something to sleep in, and anything that makes evenings around the fire even better—a guitar, board games, or just yourself.

The Truth

We're not looking for people to watch us renovate.

​

We're looking for people who genuinely want to help us build Joylery.

​

Every wall we repair, every room we clear, every window we restore gets us one step closer to opening this place for artists, workshops, exhibitions, and the community.

 

Right now, every pair of hands really makes a difference.

And if you're wondering when the best time to jump in is—our annual Toga Party is on 18 July!

It's a great chance to meet everyone, celebrate what we've accomplished, and become part of the Joylery community. If you can lend a hand before the party, even better—you'll get to enjoy it as one of the people helping make it all happen.
